Welcome to the April Edition of the McCormick Message
Dear Neighbor,
Thanks for subscribing to my newsletter, The McCormick Message. Please review what’s been going on over the last month below.
As you know, I’ve been criss-crossing the district to meet with Tea Party groups, small business owners, homeschoolers, and other concerned voters. The results are paying off as the campaign continues to build its infrastructure. If you haven’t yet done so, please sign up to volunteer for the campaign today. In the coming months, there will be plenty of opportunities to get more active.
Finally, I am asking you for your most generous contribution of $25 or $75 or $250 today. If you give any amount over $100 I will send you a copy of my book. But, truly, any amount will really make the difference.
You see, my primary opponents are Washington insiders who are already connected to the special interest groups that have driven politics to its pathetic state. I offer an alternative vision – representing the people rather than the special interests. And I therefore must rely on the generosity of my supporters to run this campaign. So please give your most generous contribution today. It means so much to me and will be used to restore integrity to Washington.
Cordially,
Terri

First Survey in 8th District Race: McCormick Leads Republicans and Steve Kagen!
According to the only survey results in the 8th District primary race, former State Representative Terri McCormick is in the lead. Despite being a former legislator, McCormick is perceived as an outsider whose common sense message resonates with voters. In a crowded primary field, she stands out as the only candidate with electoral name identification and a record of significant accomplishment.
A telephone survey of high-propensity registered voters within the 8th Congressional District was conducted in March 23-24, 2010. The sample size of 500 yields a sampling error of less than +/- 4.5%.
Terri McCormick leads the primary field among Republicans with 14% followed by Roth with 11.1%, Trager with 10.3%, Ribble with 4.5%, and the rest of the field with a 9.9%. The key to this race is the large undecided at 50.2%.
Even more shocking and encouraging: In a General Election head-to-head matchup, McCormick polls at 44.58% and Kagen polls at 37.94%, with 17.48% undecided at the present time. The full results can be found here.
These numbers are so encouraging that we hope you’ll send a donation to Terri’s campaign immediately to help the momentum continue.
Terri McCormick Discusses Primary Campaign Lead on “Freedom Watch”
Terri discussed the dynamics of the race on FOX News “Freedom Watch” on Wednesday. View the episode online here. In the interview, she discussed the health care bill that Democrats rammed through Congress — supported 100% by northeast Wisconsin Democrat Steve Kagen.
One of Terri’s supporters also penned a cartoon to illustrate the reality of the sad situation created by Kagen’s support of the health care legislation:

Terri McCormick Endorsed by Businessman Terry Kohler
Republican Eighth Congressional district candidate Terri McCormick, a former State Representative who pioneered innovative legislation to decrease the cost of health care and reduce regulations on small businesses in the legislature, has received an endorsement from longtime Republican Party benefactor Terry J. Kohler of Sheboygan.
Mr. Kohler, who has a distinguished career in leadership and business, was most recently one of two elected Republican National Committee members from Wisconsin.

Terri McCormick: On Elections Reflecting the Voters’ Wishes
“There is a stark difference between Republican voters and the establishment mentality that believes in entitlement to positions. If we can get the press to focus on ideas and solving problems rather than on how much cash is coming from closed door deals, the people might actually have a decision in this race.” — Terri on FOX News “Freedom Watch”, April 27, 2010
