Welcome to the March Edition of the McCormick Message
Welcome to the March Edition of the McCormick Message which keeps you updated on a campaign to return the Eighth District to common sense government Of, By, and For the People.
Over the last several months, I have traveled the district and talked with voters. People are so angry. They are angry at Democrats and Republicans, and the ineffective way that Washington operates.
I realize that credibility cannot be bought or borrowed, that it must be earned. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to browse my website, read my views, and watch policy videos where I explain my ideas for reforming Congress and reducing government interference in the economy. If you like what you see, please sign up to volunteer for this campaign.
You can also join us on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. Please read the latest news from the campaign below. I look forward to meeting you at upcoming events and hope you’ll join our team to take back Wisconsin.
Sincerely,
Terri

Terri McCormick March to Victory MoneyBomb on March 30
On Tuesday, March 30, we are asking Terri McCormick supporters to give their most generous contribution of $25, $100, or $250 to take back the Eighth District for limited government and the U.S. Constitution.
Steve Kagen and Nancy Pelosi are working together to curtail American freedom, and we need a strong leader who will stand up and provide market-based solutions to the problems our country faces.
The Terri McCormick campaign has to report its final fundraising numbers for the first quarter of 2010 on March 31, so any support you can provide, no matter how small, will really make a difference.

Steve Kagen’s Health Care Vote Inexcusable and Out of Touch With Northeast Wisconsin
Terri McCormick of Appleton is a vocal opponent of the Obama-Pelosi-Kagen government takeover bill. Last week Terri released the details of how Steve Kagen acted as the point man to corral additional Blue Dog Democrats to vote for the health care legislation on the House floor. This week, McCormick pledges to work to repeal the federal government’s health care takeover if voters of the Eighth elect her to Congress. Read more …

Endorsements for Terri McCormick Coming In
Despite the crowded field to face politician Steve Kagen, Terri McCormick has received some notable early endorsements, including the Republican Liberty Caucus of Wisconsin, LibertySlate.com, and several notable business owners in Northeast Wisconsin. Terri is expecting some even more significant endorsements in the coming months, from local officials and Republican Party leaders.
If you are a business owner, elected official, community leader, or concerned American who wishes to endorse Terri in her bid to replace Steve Kagen, please contact us today.
McCormick Letter to the Editor Published in Green Bay Press-Gazette
“Only a few weeks after President Obama’s inauguration, Kagen voted in favor of $742 billion in new spending and a $410 billion omnibus appropriation. Kagen has voted in favor of nearly every single spending bill since then. Kagen has no one to blame but himself as our country’s deficit climbs by trillions of dollars.
It is unacceptable for Kagen to work tirelessly to increase spending in an effort to curry favor with President Obama and Speaker Pelosi only to send articles home to Wisconsin touting his imaginary fiscal responsibility.” Read more …
Cap-and-Trade Bill May Be Next
Now that President Obama and Congressman Kagen have passed their health care scheme, their next endeavor may be Cap-and-Tax, which Congressman Kagen proudly voted for last summer. Cap-and-Trade is complex legislation that will increase the costs of energy so much that American consumers will use less of it, which curtail “greenhouse gas” emissions. In addition to taxing consumers, Democrats added a provision which imposes stiff tariffs on U.S. trade partners if they don’t adopt aggressive carbon restrictions of their own. Talk about rule by force!
Thankfully, the legislation didn’t make it out of the Senate in 2009, but there’s always 2010 and 2011 for Mr. Obama. Let’s make sure Steve Kagen isn’t in Congress in 2011 to help with Obama’s Cap-and-Trade tax hike proposal.
The last Cap-and-Tax bill was 1,300-pages of nonsense that, just like the health care bill, won’t solve any problems it purports to solve. If people find out what is really in the legislation, they will – no doubt – not support it. Terri McCormick will make sure to expose the tax-hiking proposal for what it is. Terri talks more about Cap-and-Tax in her December, 2009 article “A Season to be Thankful and a Time for Courage“.
What Terri Says: On Health Care
“In 2002, I led the Speaker’s Taskforce for Local Government Healthcare Partnerships. We used a business model to address runaway healthcare costs that threatened state and local government. We held a dozen hearings around the State, listening to the people as they identified the reasons for cost spikes. With the help of private-sector talent, we crafted and passed the Competitive Prescription Drug Purchasing Pool, which saved $25 million for non-represented state employees alone, in the first year. We recommended the use of Internet transparency for healthcare cost bidding, as well as a quality control system of standards where communities can view provider ratings online.”
“This approach put free market mechanisms in place to ensure a level playing field for health care competition. Contrast this pork-free plan with the U.S. Senate Christmas-tree bill, and you can see that government can, and must, do better.”
— Terri McCormick, “U.S. Senate: Naughty or Nice,” January 2010
