Terri McCormick on National Defense
Terri McCormick’s position on the War in Iraq and Afghanistan has matured after military intelligence and information was released to the American public. She believes that the United States military must be equipped with the best technology and intelligence possible to protect our soldiers when defending America’s freedoms. Terri believes, as our founding founders did, that America’s specific interests must be defended. She supports a strong and capable military that both defends America’s interests and protects us against terrorists.
However, stretching our military soldiers over the span of eight years across 700 bases around the world in 150 different countries acting as policemen of the world is not feasible militarily or fiscally. Terri has called for American troops to be strategically withdrawn in order to protect American servicemen and women with leadership that defines the mission, objective, and timeline of U.S. military intervention. She believes that American troops should only be deployed when U.S. national security is threatened.
